Lucid Motors open new studio in Manhattan for the public to view their Lucid Air electric vehicle (EV)
New luxury electric car offers a range of over 500 miles (805km) and can hit 0-60mph (0-97kph) in just 2.5 seconds
The new studio is located in NYC’s Meatpacking District. It’s the brand’s eighth studio to have opened in the last year. It joins a number of studios across the USA including Beverly Hills, Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and Seattle.
The Manhattan studio will offer visitors the unique opportunity to see Lucid’s advanced technology firsthand. They will be able to feel the quality of the car and experience the luxury the Lucid Air offers.
Along with the physical experience of touching an Air, those interested can “test drive” panoramic glass canopy views, choose various interior finishes, and more through virtual reality.
The Lucid Air range offers several model variants including the impressive Air Dream Edition that offers a maximum 1080 horsepower and will accelerate from 0-60mph (0-97kph) in just 2.5 seconds. On the more practical side, it offers a range of over 500 miles (805km) and can be charged to 300 miles (483km) in around 20 minutes. This costs a cool $161,500.
It’s an impressive car that will be a true challenger to Tesla’s top range Model S variants including the Plaid and Long Range. For those with less deep pockets, the Lucid Air Pure offers 480 horsepower and delivers a range of up to 400 miles (644km), with prices starting from $69,900.
Peter Rawlinson, Lucid CEO, said: “Opening a Lucid Studio in New York, one of the most vibrant cities in the world, allows us to demonstrate how Lucid Air and its groundbreaking technology perfectly complement the fast pace and refined taste of the Big Apple.
“It’s also the perfect time to open our first Lucid Studio in New York, as we will add significantly to a city that is returning to form in delivering the world’s greatest experiences to residents and travellers alike.”
The Manhattan Lucid Studio is the newest of 12 more expected to open throughout the USA by the end of 2021. Other locations will include Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Long Island, Boston, Vancouver, San Diego, and the D.C. Metro.
