Motor Fuel Group (MFG) will open 350 ultra-rapid charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in 2022
The new electric car chargers will be located at 60 hubs across the UK
Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the market-leading independent forecourt operator with over 900 sites across Great Britain, have announced they will open 350 ultra-rapid charging stations in the UK in 2022.
The electric vehicle (EV) chargers will offer up to 150kW charging and will be located at 60 hubs across the country. These new fast chargers will be able to charge up 100 miles (161km) in around 10 minutes.
MFG are spending £50 million on the chargers that will be located at its petrol stations and stand-alone electric car charging sites nationwide. Each site will feature between four and eight chargers.
MFG also announced they will energise an additional 20 forecourts that were built at the end of 2021. All of these new sites will feature ultra-rapid 300kW+ chargers.
This announcement is part of MFG’s commitment to invest £400 million in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the UK by 2030.
William Bannister, MFG chief executive, said: "We have already invested significantly, and ahead of the curve, on EV charging across our portfolio. We have an ambitious roll-out programme for 2022 which is focused on our network throughout the UK.
“Our EV sites are modern in design and provide a high-quality retail and consumer experience for the community and for motorists to use whilst charging their vehicles. We look forward to delivering on our strategic plans throughout 2022."
