New Nissan Ariya electric car takes to the famous Monaco street circuit for its public driving debut

The Nissan Ariya has made its first public appearance and debut drive around the iconic Circuit de Monaco in the glamourous French Riviera. It combines an impressively powerful performance with connected technologies and an efficient new electric vehicle (EV) design.

It features advanced connectivity, technology, a competitive range of battery capacities and the unique Nissan e-4ORCE electric drivetrain. Nissan’s electrification strategy draws on over a decade of electric car expertise and transfers this knowledge and technology to deliver the new zero-emissions Ariya.

The new Ariya, which has undergone much testing and features a specially designed aerodynamic body, is expected to have a range of over 310-miles (500km) in the larger of two battery models. It’s a nippy little mover that can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100kph) in just five seconds.

Arnaud Charpentier, region vice president of product strategy and pricing, said “Ariya’s public driving in the streets of Monaco is a great way to witness the capabilities of our e-4ORCE technology.

“Ariya is the epitome of Nissan’s innovation in electric mobility and this event marks a defining moment in the next chapter of Nissan’s EV journey.”

Nissan believes that the new Ariya is going to be a huge hit with zero-emissions drivers. Shortly before the Ariya was driven around the circuit in Monaco, Nissan claimed it had more than 200,000 hand-raisers globally for the new electric crossover.
