NIO launches NIO ES8 electric car and opens NIO House in Norway

Chinese electric carmaker has NIO launched its smart electric flagship all-electric sports utility vehicle (SUV), the NIO ES8 in Norway. The launch event took place at the first NIO House in Europe located in the capital city of Oslo. This is the first time NIO has been available in Europe.

NIO Norway has now opened its doors for orders of the NIO ES8 electric vehicle (EV). It also officially opened the NIO House Oslo. The company’s ambition is to set up a substantial Power Swap network and offer Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) to Norwegian users and announces its authorised service partners in Norway.

The NIO E8  electric SUV, NIO ES8 comes with a 100kWh battery that offers a range of up to 311 miles (500km). The NIO ES8 Signature Edition with a 75 kWh battery is also available and offers up to 233 miles (375km) of range. It also offers a maximum luggage space of 1,901 litres and a luggage space of 871 litres with the third seat row folded down.
