Tritium’s charging technology will be used to expand Osprey’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the UK. The collaboration will see the addition of over 110 of Tritium’s rapid chargers to the Osprey Charging Network which was recently voted one of the top three electric car charging networks in the country.
According to a recent study by the Competition and Markets Authority into the UK’s electric vehicle (EV) charging availability and reliability, the country is expected to require 10 times more charge points by the year 2030.
Tritium, a global developer and manufacturer of direct current (DC) fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs), will help meet this challenge. The partnership with Osprey, one of the fastest-growing UK-wide networks of rapid EV charging points, will see the addition of 110 of Tritium’s rapid chargers across 40 new charging destinations.
The aim of this is to increase access to rapid and reliable charging infrastructure in car parks, retail locations and along major transit routes. The addition of these the 110 chargers will increase Osprey’s network by 25 percent.
Tritium also recently announced a partnership with Shell. The company will supply Tritium DC fast chargers to Shell’s business operations in Europe, South Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North America. This is part of Shell’s ambition to operate 500,000 charge points by 2025 and 2,500,000 by 2030.

This announcement comes on the heels of the expansion of London’s ultra-low emissions zone which covers most of Greater London. This is a crucial step towards the Mayor of London’s (Sadiq Khan) ambitions to tackle the climate emergency and put London on the path to be a net zero carbon city by 2030.
Many of Osprey’s new charging destinations will be located within greater London to increase access to rapid charging for drivers and businesses transitioning to electric transportation.
