Peugeot boosts its electric range with new Peugeot e-Partner light commercial vehicle

Peugeot is expanding its electric vehicle range with the new Peugeot e-Partner light commercial vehicle (LCV). The new e-Partner joins the existing zero-emissions Peugeot e-Expert van. With a 100 percent electric range of up to 171 miles (275km) the Peugeot e-Partner continues the brand’s commitment to providing a fully electrified range by 2023. This van completes Peugeot’s aim of offering a full range of electric vans by the end of the year.

The new e-Partner is based on the company’s Partner range that has been hugely successful since its launch in 1996, with more than two million units sold across 100 countries. In 2019, the Peugeot Partner was named International Van of the Year showcasing its high reputation among industry experts.

The new Peugeot e-Partner marks an exciting new and clean evolution for this successful model. Based on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) multi-energy modular platform, the e-Partner features a 50kWh lithium-ion battery connected to a 100kW (136-horsepower) electric motor. This combination offers a maximum speed of up to 80mph (129kph) and will accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100kph) in just over 11 seconds with a maximum torque of 260Nm.

The e-Partner is available with two types of on-board chargers. It comes with a 7.4kW single-phase charger as standard and an optional 11kW three-phase charger. This new electric van can achieve full power in as little as five hours through an 11kW wall box, or can charge to around 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes using a 100kW DC rapid charger.

Drivers are offered three modes including ‘Eco’ (60kW/90Nm) which optimises vehicle range, ‘Normal’ (80kW,/210 Nm) which is perfect for daily use and ‘Power’ mode (100kW,/260 Nm) which is designed for performance and works best for transporting heavy loads. The e-Partner also has, ‘Moderate’ and Augmented’ braking modes to maximise battery regeneration.

The e-Partner has a maximum load capacity of up to 4.4m3 with no compromise over diesel variants thanks the 50kWh battery being located underneath the floor. It also features a maximum payload of up to 800kg and towing capacity up to 750kg. The e-Partner will be available in two wheelbase versions with a standard length at 4.40m and a long version that measures with 4.75m.

The new Peugeot e-Partner will be available in the UK from November 2021.

Julie David, Peugeot UK managing director, said:

“It is incredibly exciting to be announcing the news of our new Peugeot e-Partner, the latest addition to our electrified range. The Peugeot Partner has been one of our most popular commercial vehicle models, and we can’t wait to see how the new electric variant will be received alongside the Peugeot e-Expert. I look forward to seeing the new Peugeot e-Partner out on the road, continuing our electric revolution.”
