Polestar UK opens Milton Keynes electric car test drive hub and creates several semi-permanent hubs around the country
New hub will offer the possibility of over 28,000 consumers getting behind the wheel of the Swedish zero-emissions electric car
Polestar has opened a new UK test drive hub in Milton Keynes following a successful test-drive programme throughout 2020. The new 8,000 square foot location will offer over 7,000 consumers the opportunity to experience the Polestar 2 in a curated and personalised way before the end of the year.
The Milton Keynes venue, which will supplement the recently re-opened Polestar London and Polestar Manchester Spaces, will have eight demonstration vehicles. This will allow customers to take unaccompanied test drives of the zero-emissions Polestar 2, which starts at £39,900.
Along with other test drive activity planned for 2021, the hub will facilitate the possibility for over 28,000 consumers getting behind the wheel of the Swedish performance crossover style electric car.
The Milton Keynes hub will be set up to meet Polestar’s standards offering an on-brand experience similar to that found in its bespoke Spaces. The Covid safe environment is now open and consumers can book a test drive slot now.
Jonathan Goodman, CEO of Polestar UK, said: “We saw such huge demand in 2020 for test drives, it was clear we needed to deliver more opportunity for consumers to experience our fully-electric Polestar 2 first-hand.
“It had to be done in a high-quality way befitting the Polestar brand and be easy to book and access, and so Milton Keynes was an obvious choice. Excellent transport links, great test drive routes and a reputation as the foremost technological centre of the UK ensure it’s the perfect location for us.”
Along with the Milton Keynes venue, Polestar UK will also deliver a series of semi-permanent test-drive hubs. These will be located in Daventry, Cambridge and Harrogate and take place over the summer. Plus more locations will be announced in due course.
Polestar UK is also planning a series of pop-up events at other locations for shorter periods of time. Many will be supported by public charging firm Instavolt, who were rated second only to Tesla in a consumer survey carried out by Zap-Map.
